Mission:
The Boone
Unitarian Universalist Fellowship is an
intentionally diverse
and tolerant group. Our mission is to inspire and explore deeper
spiritual and intellectual meaning evidenced in actions of integrity,
compassion, and stewardship of the earth./
Vision:
We, the Congregation of BUUF, shall:
· Be a center for spiritual and intellectual growth.
· Build awareness of self, mindfulness of others, tolerance, and
dedication to the world in which we live.
· Generously serve and respond to the needs of the local and
global community according to our individual and collective abilities.
2-5 Year Goals
· Strengthen support for life-span Religious Education programs,
including more involvement from a wide group of people, not just current
parents.
· Develop intergenerational activities that support knowing*
*and caring for one another.
· Fund scholarships for youth to attend UU cons and/or national
programs.
· Build funds to be used for small educational scholarships for
our members.
· Develop a position description and hire a part time
administrative assistant to provide clerical support for Fellowship
leaders.
· Envision and design the physical space we want to have in 10
years and begin working to make the space a reality.
· Grow in community while respecting individuality.
· Continue our efforts to welcome all members, friends, and
visitors into the Fellowship.
· Grow in our ministry toward one another.
· Learn what professional ministry could mean for BUUF then move
towards deciding together whether or not* *we want to increase our
donations and budget to employ a minister.
· Foster greater connections and collaboration with local faith
communities and service agencies on projects benefiting our local and
global communities.**
· Strengthen connections with the Thomas Jefferson District and
the UUA.
· Complete the certification process for the Green Sanctuary,
increase our environmentally sound efforts, and publicize them.
