Earth Mother as Goddess
We all walk the earth on different paths. We have some
idea of the inherent rights and evolutionary connections we have
with the earth. But over the past 2000 years many of us have begun
to shy away from the earth as the mother goddess of all. Derwin
Sherwood will describe his religion as a Gaian and share his ideas
about the love and life provided to us by the earth mother goddess.

August 31: Mexico's Crisis and the Immigrant Question
In 1976, Mexico's economy collapsed and has never
recovered. Periodic downturns, as in 1984 and 1994, aggravated an
already bad economy. The North American Free Trade Agreement did
nothing to strengthen Mexico's situation. As a consequence, the
collapse of jobs, wages and working conditions forced millions of
Mexicans to emigrate to avoid starving to death. Dr. Jeffrey Bortz,
professor of History at ASU, will discuss ways the United States and
Mexico can cooperate to create better working
conditions in both countries and the
make their relationship a viable partnership. Presenter:
Dr. Jeffrey Bortz
