Become a Member

Joining BUUF is easy! Once you have attended a few Sundays, you may decide that becoming a member is right for you. If so, we invite you to join in a few easy steps. Start by reviewing the information below.

According to BUUF's bylaws, an Active Member is one who has signed the Roster of Membership and who agrees to support the Fellowship financially and/or by service. Membership allows you to vote in congregational meetings, serve on the Board and Committees, and have membership in the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA). Members will receive the magazine entitled UU World from UUA. Here are the steps to initiate membership at BUUF:

• Review the Getting to Know BUUF membership packet (PDF).
• Attend a two-part New UU Class geared to newcomers. These brief classes take place on Sundays after service, three times a year. The classes will introduce you to Unitarian Universalist beliefs, history, and ways to become involved in BUUF. You can get started by review our About section of the website.
• Meet with the Board President or the Membership Chair, who will go over with you the expectations and responsibilities of membership.
• Make a pledge to support the Fellowship. Financial pledges can be made at any time; and/but you do not have to become a member to do so. 

That's it! Once you become a member of our Fellowship, you agree to share your time, talent, and treasure. One way to do this is to join a committee or two to get to know more members and further the mission of the Fellowship. You are welcome to attend Board meetings, also. Keep up-to-date by regularly reviewing the Order of Service on Sundays, Boonitarian newsletter, social media, and website for upcoming events and the calendar.
