Unitarian Universalism
Unitarian Universalism is a liberal religious tradition that was formed from the consolidation of two different religions: Unitarianism and Universalism. Both began in Europe hundreds of years ago and were consolidated in 1961 through the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA).
Unitarian Universalism embraces theological diversity. We affirm the inherent worth and dignity of every person without subscribing to a particular dogma or belief system. We cherish reason, freedom of religion and thought, and embrace democratic principles. Historically, Unitarian Universalism has affirmed seven principles, as shown in the wheel below. |
