The Buildings and Grounds Committee has finished cleaning up the basement in the Founders House after two years of hard work.
The Boone UU Fellowship's Board of Trustees asks that we show our collective appreciation to the B&G committee by helping to maintain the basement's currently CLEAN condition. That means not placing personal property nor donated items in the basement. Anything found in the basement will be removed. Thank you for your understanding and support!
Many thanks to the BUUF Program Committee for a year of incredible Sunday services! Read the annual report (PDF).
The Social Action Committee in collaboration with Adult Forum is initiating “All Boone UU Reads” Jan. 26th
The Social Action Committee in collaboration with Adult Forum is initiating “All Boone UU Reads” starting Sunday, January 26, 2020. The book is The Faces of Poverty in NC by Gene Nichols. It was published in 2018 so the information is up-to-date and very relevant to the current situation in our state. The SA Committee’s thought is that by reading this book together, the Boone UU community can establish a framework in which to study and discuss how we might plan our outreach going forward. The plan is to read a chapter per week and discuss it each Sunday during the 9:30 am Adult Forum. For Sunday, January 26, Connie Green can email the first chapter to you. Contact her at email@example.com if you are interested.
On Sunday September 29, immediately after the service and before Serendipity lunch, the Social Action Committee will hold an organizational meeting, and all are invited. The purpose of the meeting is (1.) to inform the Fellowship about the Committee’s current activities; and (2.) to invite potential new members to bring their enthusiasm and ideas to the Committee, so we can grow in translating our covenant into action. Join us! Or if you can’t make the 9/29 meeting, contact Craig Fischer (firstname.lastname@example.org) and let him know you’re interested.
