Dreaming for Change Fundraising Dinner

8/16/2019

Picture
We hope you will join us for a fund-raising dinner for Dreaming for Change on Wednesday, September 4th at 6:00 p.m., 381 East King Street. Dreaming for Change is a charitable organization in Burundi striving to help women develop small businesses, teach families to cultivate kitchen gardens, and provide daily meals for children who lack basic nutrition. The feeding program is an emergency effort to provide one meal of fortified porridge to malnourished children five days a week. When the feeding program began, the Dreaming for Change team expected 50 children to come, but 180 attended the first day. Now the numbers are regularly 250 or higher. When you purchase a ticket for this dinner, you will join in our commitment to raise funds needed to sustain the feeding program.

Tickets are $50 per plate or $275 for a table of six. Please write checks to Barry Thomas with Dreaming for Change in the memo line or Paypal bfthomas@att.net. Please prepay by Paypal or by check mailed to Barry Thomas, P. O. Box 1332,Jefferson, NC 28649

BUUF Fundraiser - Appalachian Kitchen CookBook by Earl LeClaire

8/16/2018

Illustrous chef and BUUF member Earl LeCalire has compiled an incredible cookbook of 214 pages filled with traditional (and some quite humorous) recipes typical to the traditional Appalachian region. Many vegetarian (or contain vegetarian variations) recipes are included.  Mountain lore, photographs, stories, poems, and information on cooking and food safety make this a truly colorful read. Purchase one and all proceeds go to support the BUUF Fellowship. Suggested donation: $25.00. See Earl LeClaire, Alice Naylor, or Tyler Foley to purchase, or contact the Fellowship Administrator for more information.
